School I Want

The school I would most likely want to attend is the University of Central Florida. I would love to attend is college not only for its beautiful campus but also for the great student experience it provides.

Best Schools to Get Into

The best schools for nursing excellence include Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania, and New York University. Although all of these are not in Bright Future for Florida, I would much rather find a school that is apart of Bright Futures so I don't go into severe debt. These schools could be University of Florida, University of South Florida, and Florida Gulf Coast University.

Requirements for Education

To become a travel nurse, you must be a registered nuse with an Associate Degree in Nursing or you could get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program, including a passing score on the NCLEX-RN exam. An NCLEX-RN exam is a computer test that is required for nursing graduates to sucessfully pass to be licensed as Registered Nurse in the US.

History

Travel nursing started during the 1978 Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The massive crowds led to so many injuries that local hospitals couldn't keep up, forcing them to bring in nurses from across the country for help. These first "travel nurses" were hired through Bruce Male’s agency, Travel Nursing Corps (later known as Travcorps). What began as a temporary fix for a busy holiday has since grown into a global industry.
